Awards 2007 The society is proud to have received the following awards and nominations as recognition of the talent and hard work put in by the company, production team and crew. |

In May 2007 our Musical Director, David Abendstern, received the prestigious award of best musical director for the Hey Kids production of “Copacabana” staged in October 2006. This complements the two other awards that David has received in the last three years as best musical director from the Greater Manchester Drama Federation. Joanne Lord was also nominated for best artistic direction for “Calamity Jane” in May 2006; and Jill McIntosh for best choreographer for Hey Kids “Copacabana”. “Copacabana” was also nominated for the award of best youth production In May 2009 Hey Kids! production of “Oliver!” was nominated for best Youth Performance but were unsuccessful on the night—A very large well done to all involved! |

In June 2007, we received the following two awards : GMDF Youth Trophy for the best youth production, for “Copacabana” staged in October 2006. We are delighted that the whole company and workforce behind the scenes have been honoured with this award. Naomi Johnson was awarded the Certificate of Promise for her role as Conchita in “Copacabana”, after also being nominated for the same award the previous year for her role as Stella in “Summer Holiday”.
